Publishing Options

There is no charge to publish in JMSR. This is also known as the Traditional publishing model – published articles are made available to institutions and individuals who subscribe to JMSR or who pay to read specific articles.

We also offer a Gold Open Access option. When an article is accepted for publication, the author/s or funder/s pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The final version of the published article is then made immediately available (pre-publication) and free to read for everyone.

This is the most open licence available and considered in the industry ‘gold standard’ for open access; it is also preferred by many funders. The APC fee is US$2500.

In addition, we recently added another option, which is to have your article published for free for a duration of one month (30 days) during the Fast Track (pre-publication) stage. The cost for this option is $250 (two hundred and fifty USD). This will enable anyone to download your article within the 30-day period without any cost.
